Calzones
Okay, this is one where it's pretty safe to wing it! And that's coming from me, the guy who needs a recipe to boil water. You can get everything you need at the store, and it takes 45 minutes from beginning to end, resulting in a piping hot calzone!
Ingredients
1 lb pizza dough (get the store bought kind in the bag - its perfect for these)
1/2 cup pizza sauce
1/2 cup pepperoni slices
1 cup shredded mozzarella
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1 egg for egg wash
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 475 °F. Line the baking sheet with parchment paper or spray it with oil.
Divide the dough into 2 - 4 equally sized pieces, depending on the size you want.
Roll out the dough in a circle
Place the filling on half of each circle (pizza sauce, pepperoni, shredded mozzarella, parmesan). Make sure to leave the edges clean to allow for sealing the calzone. Fold the side over the filling and crimp the edges with a fork.
Paint egg wash over the calzone and on the crimped edges.
Place calzones on a baking sheet, leaving space apart. Cut a small vent on the top of each calzone. Brush the tops with oil and sprinkle with more parmesan cheese. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
